We’re excited to bring back Annemarie Jacir’s critically acclaimed drama
to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston this spring!

The year is 1967. In Harir camp in Jordan, 11-year-old Tarek (first-time actor
) and his mother Ghaydaa (Ruba Blal) must settle into their scant refugee housing after fleeing from their home in war-torn Palestine. During the chaos of crossing the border, Tarek is separated from his father, and after arriving in Jordan, he becomes desperate to reunite with him.

Tarek’s determination and his free-spirited curiosity lead him to discover a group of people who give him hope, while Ghaydaa struggles with the heartrending challenges of having to raise her child as a refugee far from the stability and normalcy they were forced to leave behind.

A touching, beautiful masterpiece of a film, an ode to the displaced the world over and to any of us who have ever lived somewhere
other than our own birth country, yearning for home.” ~
