A Few Tips on Viewing This Year’s Virtual Festival

150 150 Boston Palestine Film Festival

WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL THIS YEAR?

The festival opens on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 6:00 pm EST and closes on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 10:00 pm EST. We have 20 films from around the world.

WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL TAKING PLACE?

This year’s festival is entirely online. We know, you’d rather hang out and dabke between films and see your whole BPFF crowd, but we’re keeping everyone safe and bringing the festival to the comfort of your own home. BPFF wherever you want to enjoy it – what could be better?

WHERE IS THE PROGRAM? WHICH FILMS SCREEN ON WHICH DAYS?

Here’s the thing: All films can be viewed any time during the 10 days! Best friend is not free on Friday night? See the Opening Film on Sunday instead! Busy on Closing Night? Catch the Closing Film midweek instead. Your BPFF on your schedule – any way you like it.

HOW DO I GET TICKETS?

Tickets are already on sale. Visit our website and click TICKETS. Each ticket is $12. If you buy in advance, your tickets will be held for you in the “theater” (look for the little red Menu button in the upper left-hand corner, select it, and click My Tickets).

ARE PASSES AVAILABLE? WHERE?

Yes, a three-film pass will let you see more for less (3 films for $33). Available where tickets are sold.

THIS YEAR, SINCE THE FEST IS VIRTUAL, CAN I SEE FILMS EVEN IF I LIVE OUTSIDE THE BOSTON AREA?

Yes. Please be advised that some films have georestrictions. These are set by the filmmaker or distributor, and we as a festival must abide by them. This means that a film can only be viewed in a specific defined geographic area (eg, the USA). Each film’s georestrictions is specified in its listing. Not all films have such restrictions, so please don’t give up if your first selected film is out of reach. Many films have none at all! Many of our films are available throughout the United States and worldwide; however, some are geoblocked to the New England region.

I HAVE A TICKET, NOW HOW DO I VIEW THE FILM?

Once the festival opens, on October 16 at 6 pm, the ticket unlocks the film and makes it available for viewing. You’ll be able to watch all of our screenings via Apple TV, Roku, and Android TV as well as screencasting from your PC or mobile device.

CAN I PAUSE THE FILM OR WILL I LOSE ACCESS?

Yes, you can pause the film.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO VIEW THE FILM?

From the moment you unlock a film, you have 48 hours to finish viewing it.

WHERE CAN I GET SUPPORT IF PROBLEMS ARISE?

From the Virtual Festival page, look for the Need Help? Button in the top right-hand corner. Click it to see FAQs and launch live help via Chat.

HOW CAN I TEST MY DEVICE COMPATIBILITY?

Test your device compatibility with the virtual festival streaming platform, by clicking here.
